Tesla fans, there is one exciting news about the Model Y you do not want to miss out on in 2025. Indeed, Tesla has recently suggested an exciting return of the 7-seater option, but this time it might be different. In other words, the new Model Y can be even more spacious and family-oriented than ever before.
When the Model Y was first introduced in 2019, Tesla promised to offer a third-row option, so the SUV could become a seven-seater. However, due to cold reception from clients, the 7-seater option was phased out as soon as early 2025. The third row was never popular with Tesla’s client base, the reason being that it fit only small children, and certainly not many clients saw a practical application in such a feature.
However, for what might be the first time, it seems that Tesla will reintroduce the 7-seater Model Y, but it might be different this time. In a recent promotional email, Tesla teased a “new” Model Y version that has a long range, fits up to seven seats, and has more than enough room for all your belongings. This statement raises a number of questions. Is it a modified 7-seater, the old version of the car, or is it something else entirely?
Several industry experts have suggested that Tesla may be about to launch a long-wheelbase (LWB) Model Y. This means that there will be more room in the car, and passengers and their belongings will stay comfortable. Although there were rumors about the LWB Model Y being in production for China, Tesla is considering this variant in other markets such as the USA and Europe.
In its current form, the LWB Model Y is not yet available on Tesla’s online configurator, but that could change at any moment. However, if Tesla does make an LWB, 7-seater version available to the public, it could be the ideal solution for busy families who need a combination of innovation, comfort, and practicality.
Tesla has hinted before that a 7-seater version of the Model Y could be delivered in Europe and China by the end of 2025. Perhaps this new configuration is part of an overall global push to make the Model Y even more attractive to the U.S. market. Regardless of where it is going to be launched, there is no disruption in aligning the innovations with overwhelmingly positive feedback from satisfied customers who can now own a family-friendly electric SUV that does not compromise on convenience. For now, keep an eye out for the next exciting innovation update.
